You can reach Dießen am Ammersee either by car, train or steamboat from Herrsching.

Leave the A96 Munich–Lindau / Lindau–Munich motorway at the exit Greifenberg.
Turn right towards Dießen / Landsberg.
Follow the St2055 state road for approximately 15.5 kilometres to Dießen am Ammersee.You will pass through the following towns:Schondorf am Ammersee → Utting am Ammersee → Riederau am Ammersee
The state road becomes the Lachener Straße / Prinz-Ludwig-Straße.
Drive 1,5 km through the Village.
Shortly after Schacky Park (approx. 100 m), turn right onto Vogelherdstraße (650 m).
Stay right on Vogelherdstraße (550 m).
This flows into the Ziegelstadel (550 m).
Your destination is on the right-hand side.
There is a direct train connection with the BRB (Bayerische Regiobahn).
Travel time: approx. 27 minutes from Geltendorf, approx. 10 minutes from Weilheim

On foot: approx. 2.5 km / 40 minutes / 65 metres elevation gainDirections:
From the station on Bahnhofstraße, head west (towards the town exit / Geltendorf).
Left onto Färbergassl (170 m).
Left onto Prinz-Ludwig-Straße (250 m).
Turn right onto Marktplatz (38 m), then turn left and stay on (63 m).
Turn right onto Schützenstraße (190 m), then turn left and stay on Schützenstraße (65 m).
Turn right onto Propst-Herkulan-Karg-Straße (300 m).
Turn right stay on Propst-Herkulan-Straße (550 m).
Turn right onto Ziegelstadel (500 m).
You have reached your destination.
Alternatively, you can also take the public transport bus at the station and shorten your walking time. Please check the notice board on site for current departure times:

Get on at the Dießen railway station.Travel 3 stops to the station „Dießen, Klosterhof“ (approx. 5 minutes' drive).
From there, it is approximately a 24-minute walk to Ziegelstadel:
Walk northwest on Landsberger Straße towards Baumschulweg (120 m).
Turn left onto Johann-Michael-Fischer-Straße (80 m).
Continue to Wolfsgasse (100 m).
Turn slightly right onto Schatzbergstraße (150 m).
Turn right to stay on Schatzbergstraße (120 m).
Turn left to stay on Schatzbergstraße (100 m).
Turn slightly left to stay on Schatzbergstraße (80 m).
Turn right onto Ziegelstadel (100 m).
Turn right again (50 m).

From the Dießen boat landing stage, it is about a 40-minute walk to the Ziegelstadel.
The state road becomes Lachener Straße / Prinz-Ludwig-Straße.
Continue to the traffic light intersection and then turn right onto Herrenstraße / Hofmark (600m).
Turn left onto Rotter Straße (1.3 km).
At the town exit, turn left onto Prälatenstraße, which becomes St. Georg Straße (900m).
From there, turn right onto Burgwaldstraße (550m).
Then turn left onto Tannenstraße (300m).
Once again, turn right onto Schatzbergstraße (270m), which then merges right onto Ziegelstadel street (140m).
Your destination will be on the right side.
You cannot drive directly onto the museum grounds by bus. Therefore, we recommend turning left into the Ziegelstadel from Schatzbergstraße, reversing up to the museum, and letting passengers disembark there. During the tours, the bus can park in the Marienmünster car park, where there are official bus parking spaces. Please see the map for directions.
